Thanks to School Sport Victoria and the Victorian Government, the Victorian Institute of Sport is able to offer majority of it's programs to Government schools for free. As well as offer school's the opportunity to come and visit the high-performance facility for a fee.

Be Fit. Be Well (BFBW)
Primary & Secondary

- Free for Government schools, thanks to School Sport Victoria
- The athlete's message to the students emphasises the link between physical activity and wellbeing, and can be tailored to the schools needs
- Sessions run for up to 1 hour and audience size is determined by school
Play On
Primary & Secondary
- Structured as a normal Be Fit. Be Well visit but with a focus on girls overcoming barriers to playing sport
- Teachers get access to a FREE online resource that equips young female athletes with knowledge and skills they need to continue enjoying sport
VIS Advancement Series
Secondary
- The Victorian Institute of Sport Advancement Series offers Victorian Government secondary school students the opportunity to learn from VIS experts in the areas of nutrition and sport science for free. These education sessions cover key concepts and how they apply to everyday life and elite sport.
- Sessions are aimed at high ability learners and are targeted to the Year 7/8, Year 9/10 and Year 11/12 curriculum for health and physical education.
- This program is supported by the Victorian Government, Department of Education and Training, as part of the Victorian Challenge and Enrichment Series Student Excellence Program.

Sport Science
- Sport science education sessions will teach students about each of the different areas of sport science and how they relate to elite athlete performance
- VIS Sport Scientists will take the students through real-life athlete examples and give them exclusive insights into how athletes train, and how their performance in training and competition is closely monitored to ensure they reach their full potential
- Sessions run for 90 minutes, and include a VIS facility tour
- Maximum 40 students per session

Nutrition
- VIS Sports Dietitians will draw on their extensive experience and use real athlete stories to teach this information, combined with a variety of practical activities to engage the students.
- Nutrition sessions include a VIS facilities tour, conducted by a VIS athlete, followed by an athlete presentation
- Sessions run for 4 hours
- Maximum 100 students, combined schools
Year 7-10: Performance Nutrition: these sessions will extend student'sā understanding of basic nutrition including the function and food sources of major nutrients, food selection models, nutritional panels on food products, performance nutrition for different sports and nutrition for post-exercise recovery.
Term 2: May 16, Term 3: August 1, Term 4: October 17
Year 11-12 (VCE Units 1-4): Sports Nutrition & Sports Medicine: these sessions will extend student'sā understanding of complex nutrition and sports medicine areas including benefits, harms and sociocultural considerations of legal and illegal substances and methods that enhance the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, nutritional and rehydration strategies to enhance resynthesis of ATP and post-exercise recovery.

- Tour content includes learning about the VIS, individual athletes, meeting a VIS athlete, experiencing the training load of athletes and a tour of the gym and testing labs
