Celebrating Pride Month – Statement from the VIS

Across the world, the month of June is recognised as Pride Month – a time to celebrate the LGBTIQA+ community, and to support the freedom and equality of all people.

At the Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS), we are committed to inclusion, the removal of barriers, and the creation of opportunities to empower our people to be their best.

Supporting the LGBTIQA+ community is important to us, in sport and in life.

We want our staff to feel valued for the experiences they bring to their roles, while also feeling safe and welcome to be who they are as individuals.

We want our athletes to feel supported and accepted, so they can focus on being the best they can be.

There is no room for discrimination in sport.

All people should be free to develop their personal abilities, pursue their professional careers and make choices about their lives without being limited by prejudice and discrimination.

Join us in celebrating the Pride Month and supporting all people to be proud of who they are.
