VIS Award of Excellence 2021 cancelled

It is with great disappointment that we have taken the decision to cancel the 2021 Award of Excellence incorporating our 30th Anniversary celebration.

In line with the VIS’ policies throughout the coronavirus pandemic, we are taking the cautious approach and have decided to cancel the event for the protection of our athletes and staff.

With guidance from our medical professionals, we are taking all necessary measures to protect the athletes in their preparation for their upcoming competitions and particularly the Commonwealth Games.

The event had been intended to go ahead on Saturday 26 February, 2022.

As this is the second year that we have not been able to host our Award of Excellence and 30th Anniversary celebration we have determined we will not reschedule the event.

We are currently considering our options for appropriately acknowledging our 2021 winners, particularly as it was also to be our opportunity to recognise athlete’s performances at the Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Games.
