Smith and Wallace, Victorian Champions

VIS athletes, Penny Smith and Jack Wallace, took out the Women’s and Men’s Trap event at the Victorian Clay Target Association Championships on the weekend.

Smith took out the women’s event in impressive form, hitting the highest score of all athletes across the weekend.

VIS’ Laetisha Scanlan, James Willett, Penny Smith, Luke Argiro and Keith Ferguson depart this week for the last World Cup before the 2019 Shotgun World Championships to be held in Korea in July.

And in case you missed it, here are some of our recent notable performance from out shotgun athletes at the World Cup UAE on April 5 – 16:

 

Luke Argiro (Skeet Men Competition)

  • Competing in his 1st World Cup
  • Shot 125 of a possible 125 to equal the Qualification World Record
  • Won a Bronze Medal in the final

 

Laetisha Scanlan (Trap Women Competition)

  • Shooting 122 of 125 targets Laetisha qualified for the final in 1st position
  • Finished in 5th place after the final

 

James Willett, Nathan Argiro and Thomas Grice (Trap Men Competition)

  • All 3 men finished on 121/125 to miss the final by only 1 target
