Victorian Institute of Sport’s Alana Thomas and Stacia Strain took part in the AIS HP Coach Talent program held in Canberra last week for a three-day workshop, which consisted of 17 coaches across 11 different sports.
This workshop was about looking at coaches as individuals and leaders, and sharing their experiences within the various roles they had held.
Speaking on the event Alana Thomas stated,
“It was a fantastic group of coaches who have a wide ranging experience and are willing to grow and help shape the future of sport in Australia.”
A number of key areas were covered such as leadership presence, professional networking and understanding barriers to organisational diversity.
