Nutrition Tip | Intuitive eating

Last week we introduced intuitive eating into our 2018 festive period. This week we will look more closely at two of the key principles of intuitive eating; ‘Discover the Satisfaction Factor’, and ‘Respect your Fullness.’

Principle #5 – Respect Your Fullness

This principal is about checking in with your body to notice the subtle cues to let you know when you are no longer hungry. Our hunger hormones are often delayed when telling us we are full. So, stop and pause in the middle of meals to see how much more food you need. Give your body a chance to catch up and discover what it means to be comfortably full.

Principle #6 - Discover the Satisfaction Factor

This principal is one of the most important over Christmas. What better way to enjoy good food other than to enjoy it with good company, positive spirits and a bit of Mariah Carey or Michael Buble. Notice the subtle tastes and experience all 5 senses of the foods you love.

Above all, use this festive period to enjoy time with family and friends, celebrate 2018 and use food as a platform for enjoyment. Happy holidays!
