2XU named Official Apparel & Compression Partner

The Victorian Institute of Sport is delighted to expand its long-standing partnership with 2XU, naming the world-leading sportswear brand its new high-performance apparel partner.

The VIS has enjoyed an exclusive compression partnership with 2XU since 2006, and following a thorough tender process has named the Melbourne-based, globally-renowned brand its “Official High Performance Sports Apparel and Corporate Uniform Partner”.

The VIS is the latest in an extensive network of athletes, sports teams and organisations worldwide to select 2XU as an official sportswear partner, including the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), Basketball Australia and more recently, Rugby Australia.

The new three-year agreement through until 2021 will see Victoria’s top sporting talent train, perform and recover in the world’s leading compression and high-performance apparel, and will see 2XU design a new range of sports apparel and uniforms exclusive to the VIS that will include performance polos, t-shirts, shorts, trackpants, track jackets and compression tights.

2XU is driven to advance human performance through the development of world-leading athletic garments and is seen as a natural fit for the VIS. 2XU compression is independently proven to deliver physiological benefits including 5% increased power, 18% increased blood flow, 19% reduced muscle movement and 47% reduced muscle soreness. Its technical apparel range features the world’s leading performance fabrics and technology, with benefits including elite breathability, moisture management and lifetime odour protection.

“2XU sets the benchmark in high-performance apparel and we are thrilled that VIS athletes will continue to reap the benefits of 2XU’s advanced technology with specially designed garments to aid performance and recovery,” said VIS CEO Anne Marie Harrison.
