Nutrition Tip | Tryfor5

It’s Tryfor5 week from the 14th to the 20th of October, a Nutrition Australia campaign to encourage Aussie’s to have 5 serves of veg daily. This year’s theme is ‘Small Change, Big Gains.’  We all know it’s important for wellbeing to get your 5 serves of veg every day, yet despite that, less than 4% are actually getting enough.

Here are some hot tips to make a small change for big gains when it comes to all the benefits of increasing the veg in your diet:

-       Cut up cucumber, capsicum, baby corn or carrots to pair with a dip

-       Aim for half of your dinner plate to be made up of veg

-       When including veg in a meal aim for as many different colours as you can

-       Include a serve of veg at breakfast: avocado, mushrooms, spinach, tomato

-       Make your own veg based dips with beetroot, chickpeas, lentils or sweet potato
