Eggs…how many is too many?
We know that eggs are a powerhouse of nutrients….providing a good source of high quality protein, omega 3 fatty acids and 11 different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. These nutrients are distributed evenly between the yolk and the white, which is why we recommend eating the whole egg.
They are a great option for athletes to include as part of their post training recovery…an omelette or poached eggs on toast for breakfast post morning run or a couple of boiled eggs post gym.
But if you are worried about what impact eating too many eggs will have on your health and especially cholesterol levels, don’t be. Recent studies (on subjects with Diabetes) found that a high egg diet (as many as 12 per week) had no adverse effect on the subjects lipid profile (blood cholesterol levels).
So continue to enjoy your eggs every day!
