Setyana Mapasa and Gronya Somerville after impressive form in the mixed team badminton event just missed out on a spot in the semifinal, going down to a strong Singapore side in straight set.

Australia were defeated 3-0 by Singapore in the quarterfinals of the CG2018 Badminton mixed teams competition. Matthew Chau and Setyana Mapasa were defeated 17-21, 21-18, 16-21 by Terry Hee and Tan Wei Han in the first match, Anthony Jo lost 8-21, 6-21 to Loh Kean Yew, before the men’s doubles duo of Robin Middleton and Ross Smith were defeated 15-21, 14-21, to give Singapore an unassailable 3-0 score
