Nutrition Tip | Cramps

What do they really mean?

Cramps and what they really mean

Don’t you hate it when you’re smashing out a great session, having just polished off a hard sprint rep and just unwinding for the night post-exercise and you get a SUDDEN sharp pain?

Muscle cramps are knotting of the muscle. They are very common in athletes occurring post-excessive muscle use.

Muscle cramps can be caused by a number of factors, however, two factors that we can easily control are fuel intake and hydration status.

Often during exercise the muscle is running out of fuel which sends the body into trauma causing pain until the movement is ceased.

With this in mind, remember to FUEL, REFUEL and FUEL again to prevent unnecessary muscle cramps and ensure you meet your full potential in every workout!
