A recent study in young men found that ingesting the same amount of protein from whole eggs compared with egg whites resulted in a greater post exercise protein synthesis rates following a bout of resistance training.
The exact reason behind this is unknown, however it is likely the bounty of nutritional components within the golden yolk including fats, antioxidants and micronutrients contribute to optimising muscle synthesis!
So as always, get back to basics and whole foods! Enjoy those yolky poached, boiled or scrambled eggs on whole grain toast with mushrooms, spinach, tomato and extra virgin olive oil!
