Silver Kookaburras at Azlan Shah

The Kookaburras have finished 2nd in the Azlan Shah Cup over the weekend, with Great Britain defeating the Aussies 4-3 to take home the Cup.

Great Britain got off to an early lead, holding 2 - 0 within the first 11 minutes of play, leaving the defending champions scrambling to catch up. A field goal from Eddie Ockenden saw the Kookaburras trailing by one heading into the main break.

VIS athlete Josh Pollard scored a field goal 4 minutes into the second half in a quick response to a Great Britain goal only moments earlier.

Plenty of penalty corners in the final quarter gave both sides opportunity to score.Despite controlling large parts of the game, the defending champions were unable to come back, with Great Britain taking out the match and the tournament 4-3.

The Kookaburras will now prepare for their World League 3 competition, with team selection set to take place in the coming weeks.
