Nutrition Tip | Christmas is approaching!

Christmas is approaching! Instead of buying friends and family a hamper of chocolate, fruit mince pies and shortbread biscuits, why not actually make them a food gift this year?

Here is a tasty and versatile condiment that will fire up your festive meal:

Harissa Paste
Ingredients:

2-3 medium red capsicums

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp ground cumin

8 garlic cloves

15 small red chillies (or less if you dislike spicy!)

1/4 cup of fresh coriander, roughly chopped

2 tbs extra virgin olive oil

What to do: Lightly spray capsicums with oil and place on the grill for approximately 15mins or until the skin begins to blacken. Remove and allow to cool before peeling of the skin. Meanwhile, place ground coriander, ground cumin, chopped coriander, garlic and red chilli in a food processor together with the peeled capsicums. Blend for 2mins or until well combined. Season with a pinch of salt (optional). Transfer to mason jars. Will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.

This condiment is perfect for stirring through meat and vegetable dishes, pastas, stews, casseroles, soups or as a dip. A little bit goes a long way. Have a great Christmas!
