The Australian U21 women’s hockey team, the Jillaroos, have won bronze at the 2016 Hockey Junior World Cup in Santiago, Chile overnight.
The Jillaroos, featuring VIS athletes Sophie Taylor and Krissy Bates, defeated Spain 3-1 in a penalty shoot-out in the bronze medal match.
The scores were tied 1-1 at the end of full time, but the Aussies kept cool heads to win the shoot-out.
