Talented Melbourne Vixens defender, Jo Weston, has been named in the Australian Diamonds team that will travel to South Africa and England for the 2017 Netball Quad Series in January and February.
“We are delighted to see Jo selected in the Australian team,” Vixens Head Coach Simone McKinnis said. “She has worked really hard in the past few months and deserves the opportunity.”
Weston will be joined in the squad by fellow Melbourne Vixens defender, Emily Mannix, who will travel with the team as a training partner.
“This will be an invaluable experience for Emily” McKinnis said. “She has trained with the Diamonds throughout the year and this is a reward for the positive impression she has made.”
The Diamonds will have a new look leadership group with Sharni Layton taking on the role of Captain for the series.
