Tell us about your life after your time at the VIS?

It isn’t easy transitioning from high performance sport, no matter how set up you are. My life after the VIS has been a rollercoaster as I am finding my groove in this new chapter of life. I am working full time, spending time doing different hobbies (like sailing) and leaning into being more spontaneous - which I feel like sport doesn’t let you to do.

What is your proudest sporting achievement?

The whole journey. Yes, it finished with achieving the Olympic dream, but it is the friends I made, places I saw and the experiences I had that made me into the person I am today.

What is your proudest moment outside of sport?

I am proud of the way I proactively set myself up for life after sport. It is tricky navigating the corporate world with little experience or knowledge to start off but I did everything in my power to give myself the best shot and it paid off.

What is the most valuable lesson you learnt during your time at the VIS?

It is the people that matter. And it seems that in my life after sport in the workplace that this is even more true because work can be a challenge in many ways, but I have found that surrounding myself with good people who care, respect and help me grow is the way to getting through.
