Matt Temple

Another huge day for the Australian Swimming Team. The Dolphins will be competing in four finals from 11:30am AEST. Matthew Temple will be up first in the 100m Butterfly Final, he is the sixth fastest qualifier and a bronze medallist from the 4x100m relay at these Games.  - Australian Olympic Team

Mixed Trap

The Mixed Trap Teams is a new Olympic event and Australia will field two of the strongest pairings in James Willett and Laetisha Scanlan, plus Tom Grice and Penny Smith.    

The teams are set to bounce back from the disappointment of missing medals in the individual men's and women's Trap events. There are 16 Mixed Teams contesting the event.  The Mixed Teams qualifying is conducted over three rounds of 25 targets. The top two qualifying Teams will proceed to the gold medal match with the third and fourth highest scoring teams meeting in the bronze medal match. Mixed Team Qualifying starts at 10:00am AEST. - Australian Olympic Team

Anabelle Smith 

Olympic bronze medallist Anabelle Smith and teammate Esther Qin at her second Games will dive in the semi-finals of the 3metre springboard from 4:00pm (AEST). Smith just progressed from the heats in 16th and Qin was 9th. Scores will start from zero in the semi-final with the top 12 athletes progressing to the final on Sunday. - Australian Olympic Team
