VIS runners dominate Gold Coast Half Marathon

Congratulations to Victorian Institute of Sport long distance runners who competed at the Gold Coast Half Marathon over the weekend.

 Sinead Diver took out first place with a run of 69:45 minutes, while fellow VIS athlete Lisa Weightman placed third just behind in a run of 70:30 minutes. In the Men’s half marathon Jack Rayner cemented the VIS’ runner’s domination and finished first with the time of 62:30 minutes.

Over in Lausanne Switzerland, Darcy Roper competed in the Men’s Long jump at the ATHLETISSIMA Diamond League. Roper had a jump of 8.05m, finishing in 6th place.

In other news, VIS athletes are getting set to take the stage this week at the 30th Summer Universiade Games in Napoli Italy.  VIS is heavily represented on Australian Uniroo’s team, including; Georgia Griffith, Celeste Mucci, Chris Mitrevski, Georgia Hansen, Jemima Montag, Morgan Mitchell, Catriona Bisset and Darcy Roper.
