Netball World Cup Updates

The Australian Diamonds, featuring VIS netballers Lizzy Watson, Jo Weston and Caitlin Thwaites have made themselves known as the netball World Cup kicked off in Liverpool, England.

This weekend saw the preliminary stage one games, where the Diamonds came up against Northern Ireland, Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka across the first three games.

Against Northern Ireland, Watson and Weston were on the starting side that saw them win 88 to 24, the pair were also on the starting side for game two, were they defeated Zimbabwe 73 to 37.  The final pool match saw Thwaites join Watson in a convincing 99 to 24 win over Sri Lanka, with Thwaites having a stellar performance in the ring, with 99% accuracy and breaking the record of most goals scored in a single game at the tournament.
