Honey to miss season after Achilles Tear

Monday, 11 February 2019

Melbourne Vixens/VIS mid-courter, Tayla Honey, will miss the 2019 Suncorp Super Netball season after scans confirmed she has torn her Achilles tendon.

Honey, who signed with the Vixens in September, suffered the injury at training on Wednesday night and has undergone surgery.

Head coach Simone McKinnis is disappointed for Tayla and wishes her well in her recovery. “We are devastated for Tayla, one of our new recruits for the season who has shown real potential in her pre-season training,” said Mckinnis. “Tayla has been part of the Vixens family for a couple of years, so this is definitely felt throughout the whole Vixens camp.”

Honey, in a motivating Instagram post, stated "I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone that has supported me the last few days with my injury… I will endeavour to come back better and stronger than before and cannot wait to see the Melbourne Vixens girls smash it this year on court!"
