VIS Performance Lifestyle Manager

The Performance Lifestyle Manager is a pivotal role within the VIS, responsible for leading the newly formed Performance Lifestyle department in the delivery of support and services to our elite performers in the areas of Performance Lifestyle and Psychology.
This new position will be tasked with providing the highest level of wellbeing, career, education and lifestyle management and transition advice, to optimise VIS athletes’ on and off-field performance and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Performance Manager (Pathways) and based at the VIS headquarters in Albert Park, the purpose of this unique and challenging role is to ultimately support athletes to thrive in their sporting career and beyond. The VIS is seeking a passionate, driven and collaborative high performance professional to join our organization in this important leadership role.
Key Accountabilities Include:
- Managing and coordinating the VIS Performance Lifestyle and Psychology staff involved in the delivery of services to athletes and programs.
- Coordinating Performance Lifestyle support to athletes and staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team approach within sports’ high performance programs.
- Contributing to and collaborating with AIS, SIS/SAS, NSO’s and colleagues working in the Performance Lifestyle, AW&E and Psychology networks.
- Developing collaborative relationships within schools, tertiary, TAFE and industry sectors to facilitate opportunities for elite athletes.
- Devising and managing the operating budget for the Performance Lifestyle and Psychology programs.
You Will Bring
To be successful, a strong understanding of high performance sport is essential. You will also have demonstrated capacity to inspire others through your leadership and be both ‘hands-on’ and strategic in a multi-disciplinary team environment. A strong emphasis will be placed on the successful applicant having the necessary interpersonal skills, a collaborative communication style and well-honed negotiation and influencing skills. Past experience in a performance services environment will be advantageous.
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience that would support the achievement of the role purpose are essential - (E.g. Career Counselling, Counselling, Education, Health, Human Resources, Performance, Psychology, etc). You will also require a Current Driver’s License, Victorian Working with Children Check and Current Safeguarding Children Certification.
Remuneration will be commensurate with your skills and experience. To apply for this position, you must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
