Nature’s immune boosting fruits & vegetables in season

Just as everyone is rushing off to the doctor to get their flu vaccines, nature’s immune boosting fruits and vegetables come into season. 

Nature has a special way of providing us with all that we need.  Vitamins and minerals that support a healthy immune system include vitamin C, selenium and zinc.  Fruits and vegetables coming into season that are good sources of vitamin C include citrus fruit, kiwi fruit, broccoli and cabbage . Other foods to help battle away cold and flus include seafood, nuts and beef due to the zinc and selenium they provide. Other ways to promote a strong immune system is to boost the healthy bacteria in your gut with probiotics from yoghurt, and add garlic and ginger into your cooking for an antibacterial hit!
