How does the VIS support your career in high performance sport?
Access to high quality training programs with an incredible strength and conditioning coach (Yosup Kim, combined with a variety of resources and providers including soft tissue therapy, sports physiotherapy and performance psychology, have all contributed to my growth as an athlete.
The professional, supportive and friendly environment not only has enhanced my physicality and mentality as an athlete but created a sense of belongingness and community away from home!
Most memorable sporting moment?
Winning bronze at my first Senior World Championships in 2025 is a moment I will never forget!
Proudest personal achievement outside of sport?
Balancing moving out of home at 17 years old with full time training, competition, travels, working, studying, managing my diet (taekwondo is a weight-classed sport) and the chores of adulthood living alone!
What do you enjoy most about your sport?
I love training and the team I get to train with. I am fortunate enough to train with such a good group of athletes supported and lead by our amazing National Head Coach, Seok Hun Lee and National Coach, Ryan Carneli.
My sport is enjoyable as not only does physical strength and endurance play a big factor, but strategy and thinking is critical.
Advice to your younger self?
Everything happens for a reason, so enjoy the now as much as you can! It is all apart of a bigger process.
Go-to meal before competing?
Night before - pasta and garlic bread!
Morning of - breakfast buffet, with toast, eggs and a little bit of everything! Lots of carbs!
If you could have dinner with any three people, who would they be?
Simone Biles, Roger Federer and Aristotle
What do you enjoy doing outside of sport?
Surfing, going to cafes and restaurants, enjoying good coffee, beach days, skiing and snowboarding, family time.
