As a component of Sport Science support, Sport Psychology is a vital ingredient in high performance sport at the VIS. VIS Head Coaches consult with each athlete and with designated Sport Psychologists to integrate the delivery of Sport Psychology services into the coaching program.
Sports Psychology is availably to athletes through a network of preferred providers affiliated with the VIS.

The Victorian Institute of Sport provides high performance sports programs for talented athletes, enabling them to achieve national and international success. The VIS supports nearly 400 athletes on scholarship across 40 sports including able-bodied athletes and athletes with a disability. The VIS is a non-residential Institute.
The VIS is currently attempting to establish a Sport Psychology Network of providers to deliver performance enhancing skills/programs to VIS coaches and athletes.
We are seeking expressions of interest from highly skilled and experienced psychologists to form part of this network. To be considered as an approved provider, individuals must as a minimum have completed a Master’s Degree in Psychology, be fully registered with the Psychologists Board of Victorian, and demonstrate relevant experience with athletes and teams preferably within an elite setting.
