Hockeyroos beat NZ to stay in World Cup

The Australian Women’s Hockey team – the Hockeyroos – have defeated New Zealand, 4-1, in their fourth game of the World Cup series in Argentina. After losing to the Netherlands, 1-4, the Hockeyroos needed a draw against NZ to remain in contention for a semi-finals berth.  Under pressure in the opening stages, the Hockeyroos were taken off-guard by New Zealand’s quick passes, only to regain game control in the second half.

Australia will fight it out with Germany for a spot in the semi finals.
