Years of hard work and dedication have paid off for Para-Alpine skier Mitch Gourley, with the VIS athlete winning the 2017 “Super Combined” at the Wold Championships in Tarvisio, Italy.
Lucas Hamilton was awarded the best young rider, while Simon Gerrans finished runner up in the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race on Sunday.
2015 VIS Award of Excellence winner Dylan Alcott has taken out the Australian Open wheelchair tennis title for a third straight year, winning the final in straight sets.
The northern hemisphere winter is certainly being kind to our VIS athletes with Scotty James winning gold at the other big snow event, the X Games in Aspen.
