VIS’ Gronya Somerville and Setyana Mapasa swept through the first round of the Gold Coast tournament 21-3, 21-6 and progressed all the way to the semi-finals before confronting England.
Victorian Institute of Sport’s Damien Schumann and his Australian teammate Chris McHugh became our first ever Commonwealth Games beach volleyball gold medalists.
Kell O’Brien and the men’s 4000m team pursuit won gold for Australia in spectacular fashion setting a new world record.
