Hockeyroos get revenge against Black Sticks

Monday, 28 May 2018

The Hockeyroos have redeemed themselves, following their Commonwealth Games disappointment, by defeating host nation New Zealand 4-1 in Sunday’s final of the Tri Nations series.

VIS’ Emily Hurtz put Australia’s third goal on the scoreboard and the match sealer.

Both sides had chances in the final quarter but Australia did enough to seal the 4-1 triumph, earning their third straight win over New Zealand.

The win made it four out of five wins for Australia in this series, great preparation for the Hockeyroos ahead of the World Cup in London starting in July.

Australia 4 (Kenny 8’, Malone 30’, Hurtz 35’, Peris 45’)
New Zealand 1 (Harrison 19’)

VIS Players: Emily Hurtz, Kristina Bates, Lily Brazel & Ashlee Wells
