Scanlan, Jones and Cox win Commonwealth and Australian titles

Laetisha Scanlan has won gold at the ACTA ISSF National Championships in Echuca over the weekend.

 

In harsh conditions, with temperatures soaring to 40 degrees, Scanlan’s remarkable performance crowns her as the Commonwealth and National Champion, setting a new Australian record and the overall High Gun winner.

 

In windy conditions, Aislin Jones won her third consecutive Commonwealth Championship and regained the Australian National Championship, taking out the Graham Mitchell Memorial trophy for the women’s skeet overall high gun and finishing off her first national carnival with a clean sweep of all three titles.

 

Emma Cox won both the Commonwealth and National Ladies Double Trap Championship Shooting scores of 103 and a personal best of 106 and taking out the high gun.  Following on from this she competed in the Trap to return qualifying scores of 70/75 and 72/75 winning the silver in the Commonwealth Championship behind Scanlan and placing 4th in the Nationals.
