Vixens announce training partners

Saturday, 29 July 2017

The Melbourne Vixens have announced four netballers as their training partners for the 2018 Suncorp Super Netball season.

The announcement sees Lara Dunkley, Tayla Honey, Jacqui Newton and Rahni Samason join the Vixens as training partners for 2018.

Each year, Super Netball clubs must nominate at least four athletes as training partners, who are protected as temporary replacement athletes.

All four athletes have played for the Victorian Fury before, however Tayla Honey is the only one to have previously been named as a training partner for the Melbourne Vixens (2017). She made her debut for the Vixens last season, taking to the court in several games following a knee injury to Khao Watts.

Melbourne Vixens coach Simone McKinnis said she was excited by the prospective talent.

“I am really excited, we have some of Victoria’s best young talent here and it is a great opportunity for them. Obviously it is the first time for Rahni, Lara and Jacqui as training partners, so it will be great for them to join Tayla Honey,” she said.
