Aussies get flying start

VIS swimmer Mack Horton got his European tour off to a flying start, with a dominant display at the 2017 Mare Nostrum in Monaco over the weekend.


The Rio Olympic Champion snagged two podium finishes at the meet, finishing 2nd in the 400m Freestyle in a time of 3:50.13 before backing up his performance on Day 2 with a 3rd place finish in the 200m Freestyle with 1:48.56.


Sian Whittaker also swam well, finishing 4th in the 200m Backstroke on the first day of competition, before placing 5th and 7th in the 200m medley and 100m backstroke respectively, in the final day of competition.


The meet provided valuable competition ahead of the FINA World Championships to be held in Budapest, Hungary in July.
