Twenty nine year old Carmen will be eager to improve on her fifth placing at the 2012 Olympics, and will be going into the competition as a gold medal contender following her outstanding World Championship victory in 2013.

Carmen’s husband, Safwan Khalil (-58kg) is also a member of the four person Australian team to be nominated to compete at the Games.
