World beater breaks championships record

Successfully defending her World title and breaking her own championship record in the process, Jacinta Carroll has wowed crowds at the 2015 World Ski Championships in Chapala, Mexico.
Carroll suffered a broken toe less than two weeks ago, which may have limited her preparation but not her results. She was the final jump competitor to leave the dock and required a 51.6m jump to take the lead.
“With my broken toe and joint all strapped up I screamed getting my bindings on. Once my foot was in though, it was game on and I had harder things to focus on,” said Carroll.
“I went out focused knowing what to do. On my first jump it all came together and I was able to fly 57.6m.”
Not only did Carroll break her own world championship record on her first jump, she also recorded the biggest winning margin at a world title event.Tags
