Throughout their careers, VIS athletes accumulate a variety of expertise to achieve their goals. Having proved their commitment, dedication and passion to achieve their own dreams, successful athletes can be very powerful and positive influences in encouraging others to reach their full potential. For many years, the VIS has provided schools, community groups, sporting groups and corporate organisations with access to some of the best presenters in Victoria.
The VIS currently coordinates four community programs:
Sportspersons in Schools Program - a joint initiative with the Department of Education & Training, this program is part of the Government's ongoing commitment to encourage participation in sport and physical activity. This program is available at no cost to primary and secondary government schools across metropolitan and regional Victoria.
- This program provides schools, community groups, sporting groups and corporate organisations with access to VIS athletes and expert speakers for their events. Any request will be reviewed and considered, and fees will be determined on an individual basis.
