The pathway to becoming a VIS athlete varies according to each particular sports program offered by the VIS. Generally, athletes are selected from each sport for VIS scholarships according to the following criteria:

  • High potential to achieve success at National and International level
  • National/and or International ranking according to established standards
  • Australian Citizenship, and normally a resident in the State of Victoria
