Ciriello makes Kookaburras Olympic team

VIS athlete Chris Ciriello has been selected in the Kookaburras Olympic team.

After a tough selection process, that saw 28 players in contention for the 16-players squad, VIS athlete Chris Ciriello has been selected in the Olympic team, with four more VIS players named in the group of six reserves:  George Bazeley, Luke Doerner, Glenn Simpson and Russell Ford.

The Kookaburras are in super form ahead of the London Olympic Games, dominating South Korea in a four test series in Perth.  The Kookaburras finished the series with three convincing wins and a draw with many of their key players injured.

The Hockeyroos played Germany in two final training matches before Olympic selection, with the team being announced tomorrow. VIS athletes Georgia Nanscawen, Claire Messent and Ashlee Wells performed well and remain strong contenders for Olympic selection.
